Microsoft announced that the next version of Windows, SQL Server and Visual Studio will be released on February 27, 2008. We're talking about:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (code name: Longhorn)
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (code name: Katmai)
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 (code name: Orcas)
Windows Server 2008 is expected to go RTM later this year. This means that Microsoft is using the same strategy as with Vista; first release the RTM to the web and later on have the official launch.
You can expect a beta 2 version of Visual Studio 2008 later this month.
